American Heritage Center, University of Wyoming
With collections ranging from Buffalo Bill to Stan Lee, the American Heritage Center at the University of Wyoming is one of the ten largest non-governmental public archives in the United States. Collecting widely in the American West and national pop culture, it also holds extensive collections in economic geology, transportation, journalism, and politics as well as authors, artists and photographers. It also serves as the University’s archives.
The Center emphasizes access, making its 6,000+ collections available to the public—students, citizens, and the national and international research communities—through an in-person reading room, remote reference requests, and online digitized materials. The AHC pioneered remote live access to enable researchers around the world to explore its collections from the comfort of their studies.
