DART
DART, the Digital Archivist’s Resource Tool, is a free, open-source desktop application from APTrust. It packages files into BagIt bags and uploads them to remote repositories, including APTrust. It runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux. See the DART page for more details.
Registry
Registry is APTrust’s cloud-based, distributed digital preservation repository. Members use it to deposit content, track ingested material and manage their accounts.
- Registry user guide
- Registry REST API (application programming interface) documentation
- Registry OpenAPI (Swagger) reference
- Registry developer documentation
- Registry source code on GitHub
Registry runs as three separate sites, each with its own purpose:
- Registry staging site: APTrust staff test new code here. Members don’t have access.
- Registry demo site: members and prospective members test new workflows and train here.
- Registry production site: members deposit content for preservation here.
Partner Tools
Partner Tools is a command-line utility for creating and validating bags, managing files in Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service), and querying data in Registry.
Preservation Services
Preservation Services, also called Preserv, is the suite of container-based services that run ingest, restoration and other preservation work behind Registry.
