2017 Fall Meeting

Meeting Info

University of Maryland – College Park Campus

Thursday 05 October, 8:30-5:00

Friday 06 October, 8:30-1:00

Because of changes in how ARL is setting up its meeting earlier in the week, we have moved the APTrust meeting to Thursday and Friday of that week, just after the ARL meeting.  As usual, we’re planning to emphasize matters of special interest to the deans in the early phase of the meeting (the morning of Thursday, October 5, and concluding by lunchtime for those deans who need to leave at that point), with additional topics explored on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning.  The meeting will conclude midday on Friday, October 6.

Guest Speakers

UPDATE: One of our invited speakers has had to withdraw. Trevor Owens has been assigned duties by the Library of Congress on the days of our meeting (as you may know, he recently returned to employment at the Library of Congress after recent years with IMLS). Phil Bourne will still be speaking on Thursday morning, October 5.

Phil Bourne – Director of the Data Science Institute at UVA: We’ve asked him to speak on the importance of open research data and roles we might play in its preservation and access.

SCHEDULE UPDATE: Trevor Owens has had to withdraw as a speaker–he indicates he hopes to join us at a future meeting. [Trevor Owens – Head of Digital Content Management, Library of Congress: his upcoming book is The Theory and Craft of Digital Preservation.]
