We’re excited to announce that Shelly Black, Digital Archivist at the Special Collections Research Center, North Carolina State University Libraries, is the APTrust 2025 T-Shirt Contest winner! 🎉
Shelly’s design, which playfully celebrates APTrust’s 10th anniversary in production, stood out for its creativity and clever nod to a decade of digital preservation. Check out her winning design below:

Shelly has selected a t-shirt featuring her design as her prize, and you can grab your own! T-shirts and other apparel featuring Shelly’s design are on sale at Redbubble. All proceeds from sales go directly to Shelly.
We also want to recognize Linda Newman, APTrust Governing Board Emeritus and formerly with the University of Cincinnati, for her honorable mention. Linda’s submission brought a creative and thoughtful perspective, though it was unfortunately unsuitable for printing.

Thank you to our judges, Chelsea Denault and Kate Dohe, for lending their expertise and enthusiasm to this contest. Their keen eyes and thoughtful deliberation made this a fun and meaningful event. Thanks to everyone who participated! Whether you submitted a design, helped spread the word, or are now proudly sporting an APTrust t-shirt, you’re part of our digital preservation community. Here’s to 10 years of APTrust in production—and many more to come.
