Leaves and acorns surround the text "A thanksgiving note to the stewardship community"

As the holiday season approaches, it’s a natural moment to pause and reflect on the people and partnerships that make long-term digital stewardship possible. At APTrust, our work is grounded in technology, planning, and infrastructure, but it only succeeds because of the human network behind it.

Every day, across our member institutions, people quietly keep digital preservation moving forward. They write scripts, review logs, prepare deposits, update metadata, troubleshoot restores, refine documentation, and share what they’ve learned with colleagues across the consortium. Much of this work happens behind the scenes, but its impact is long-lasting. Reliable stewardship is built on these steady, thoughtful contributions.

We’re especially grateful for the trust you place in APTrust and in one another. Our shared model works because institutions collaborate generously: asking questions, offering guidance, and comparing notes that help everyone strengthen their workflows. That collective spirit is one of the consortium’s greatest strengths, and it continues to shape how we grow.

Thank you for the care you bring to this work, for your commitment to your collections, and for the many ways you support this community. It’s a privilege to be part of a network that values both preservation and the people who make preservation possible.

Wishing you a warm, restorative Thanksgiving season.
