Welcoming Elisabeth Long and Evelyn Frangakis to the APTrust Governing Board
We are delighted to welcome two distinguished professionals, Elisabeth Long and Evelyn Frangakis, as the newest members of the APTrust Governing Board. Their extensive expertise and commitment to advancing libraries and preservation make them outstanding additions to our leadership team.
Elisabeth Long
Elisabeth Long is the Sheridan Dean of University Libraries, Archives, and Museums at Johns Hopkins University, where she oversees the Sheridan Libraries, the Peabody Library, and the university’s museums. A former ARL Leadership Fellow, Elisabeth previously served as Associate University Librarian for Information Technology and Digital Scholarship at The University of Chicago Library, a former APTrust member institution. With over 20 years of leadership in academic libraries, she has been at the forefront of digital scholarship, pioneering initiatives that connect researchers and students with cutting-edge tools and resources.
Elisabeth’s focus on leveraging digital tools for preservation and access is particularly relevant to APTrust’s mission. Her leadership in adopting forward-thinking strategies aligns with our goals of ensuring the longevity and usability of scholarly and cultural resources. Beyond her administrative excellence, she remains deeply engaged in connecting institutions and individuals with the resources needed to excel in an increasingly digital academic landscape.
Evelyn Frangakis
Evelyn Frangakis, Managing Director of Princeton Theological Seminary’s Wright Library, brings over 25 years of distinguished service in federal, academic, and public research institutions. At Princeton Theological, she leads one of the foremost theological research libraries, shaping it into a model for accessibility and digital preservation.
Evelyn’s career highlights include impactful leadership roles at the New York Public Library, the National Agricultural Library, and prominent professional organizations like the American Library Association and the Society of American Archivists. A recognized ARL Leadership Fellow, she has driven initiatives focused on inclusivity, cultural heritage preservation, and professional collaboration. Evelyn’s digital preservation expertise and dedication to fostering knowledge-sharing networks will undoubtedly strengthen APTrust’s mission to preserve and provide access to digital assets across its member institutions.
